Erb 2nd at Thunder Run 5K
Brian Erb improved his Thunder Run time by 10 seconds over last
year finishing in 15:46. Chas Davis took the overall just a couple of ticks
ahead of Brian in 15:42. Ben Sandy was 3rd o/a in 16:03.
Marsh, Reilly run at Raven's Nest 5K Trail
Run
Ivan Marsh repeated as the men's winner at the 6th annual Raven's
Nest. Ivan covered the difficult course in 18:58, pretty amazing feat
considering the terrain. Ivan has won this race all 5 years he has
participated. Mike Reilly finished in the top 10 and figured out this trail
running is a whole new business.
Aug. 7-Garcia takes 3rd at USA Masters T&F
Championships
Bob Garcia got off to a great start at the 2008 USA Masters
T&F Champs today claiming 3rd in the 5000m race in a quick 17:42. Bob will
be in Spokane for the weekend competing in the 800 and 1500 as well. Nice job
Bob!
Erickson, Henry victorious at 21st Annual Lake
Wehrspann 10K
Roxi Erickson and Angee Henry battled extreme heat and high
humidity to capture their individual race crowns at this morning's LW 10K.
Erickson was not only first master but overall female in 43:40. Angee Henry
came back after a top 3 finish at yesterday's Race Against MS to claim the
overall in the 2 Mile in 13:00. Your scribe rode the lead bike and can attest
to the inhospitable conditions. Congratulations to everyone that competed and
completed this morning's races!
Might Mo Half Marathon and 8K Results
Bob Garcia, Peg Pearson, and Laura Ferguson traveled to
South Sioux City this morning for the Half Marathon & 8K. Laura took first
overall female in the 8K with a nice 29:27, masters ace Peg Pearson scored a pr
in the half with a 1:38:01, and The Ageless One (54) Bob Garcia took 2nd overall
in the half with a 1:20 and change. Great running!

Chritensen defends Downtown Runaround Title
Molly Christensen won the Columbus Downtown Runaround 5 Mile for
the second year in a row touring the scenic route in 31:08. This is Molly's 4th

Van Westhuizen joins Team Nebraska Brooks
Please join us in welcoming Peter Van Westhuizen to the club.
Peter is a 2008 UNL grad with some impressive wheels, boasting prs of 1:49.57
800m/3:59.05 mile/8:07 3K and 14:20 5K.
Julin wins 60-64 at BIX !
Gary Julin captured the 60-64 age group (49:58) at the 34th
Annual BIX 7 in Davenport, IA. Gary was accompanied by mates Chris Stiffler
(43:40)and Dave Sutej (46:25) representing the club.
Omaha Mile presented by Alegent Health to offer Little
Wranglers Run. The 3 races that make up the LWR will be free to all children 10
& under!
ConAgra sees the potential and benefit of providing this event
free of charge to our Nebraska youth. Entry includes a cool award for all
participants, a neat race premium (not another t-shirt for your closet), a
special Kids Zone (Thanks Peg!), and top 3 awards for the three different heats.
